Service Engineer

Are you excited by challenging the status quo, prove new ways of working and shape the shipping industry's future? As a Service Engineer you are an integral part of the service delivery to our clients, since you are there for the organisational & technical aspects of every project.

You closely engage with the commercial team, our clients and suppliers, with the vessels’, captains on and off board as well as all other stakeholders.

🤓 Main responsibilities

• You supervise and coordinate the activities of subcontractors and technicians involved in the installation, maintenance, and repair of remote operation systems for vessels
• You provide guidance to the team, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, operational standards, and project requirements
• You plan and prioritize tasks and resources to meet project objectives and deadlines, coordinating with project managers and other stakeholders as needed
• You conduct pre-operation checks and inspections of equipment and machinery, identifying and addressing any issues or discrepancies to ensure optimal performance and safety
• You oversee the implementation of preventive maintenance programs for vessels and associated equipment, scheduling routine inspections and servicing to minimize downtime and prolong service life
• You are the SPOC when troubleshooting equipment malfunctions and technical issues, coordinating with engineering and technical teams to implement timely solutions and minimize disruptions to project activities.
• You maintain accurate records of work performed, including equipment maintenance logs, inspection reports, and inventory records, to facilitate compliance with regulatory requirements and project documentation standards.
• You foster a culture of skill development, safety awareness, and teamwork by mentorring and train other team members and technicians

👇 Does this sounds like you

• High school diploma or equivalent. Additional technical training in marine engineering, electrical/mechanical systems, or related fields is necessary
• Proven experience in a coordinating role, preferably within the maritime industry or related sectors
• Good technical knowledge of vessel, including remote operation technologies, hydraulic/mechanical systems, and electrical components
• Good communication skills, with the ability to effectively motivate and coordinate a diverse team of personnel
• Be able to prioritize tasks, allocate resources, and manage time effectively to meet project deadlines and objectives
• Experience in reading technical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals to interpret and troubleshoot technical issues
• Problem-solving attitude and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing operational challenges
• Commitment to safety, with a thorough understanding of safety regulations and best practices applicable to maritime operations
• Eager to work in a dynamic and challenging environment, with the flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and project requirements
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel locally for site visits and project-related activities
